DERMATRAX DERMATOLOGY APP
Taking the pain out of dermatology
There's a lot of work that goes into running a successful dermatology practice. Managing hundreds of patients only adds to the stress. At Combustion group, I was asked to create an app that would allow the nurses/front desk to:
- Track history of patient procedures
- Monitor current sessions in progress
- Schedule patient for follow up visits
- Create a detailed map of facial injections the patient would receive
- Take photos of patient face to show progress and output a video file of the transformation
USER EXPERIENCE
As always, the process began in front of a white wall. The tablet app, which needed to be utilized my multiple doctors, had a distinct user journey which was drawn out using markers and Post-its:

Due to the strict HIPPA laws that this would have to pass, we had to ensure that there was a clear and secure route to access patient information. This process involved speaking to nurses and other members of the medical field who are well versed in the HIPPA laws. Countless iterations were done to ensure the flow from doctor to doctor was consistent and that there were no gaps in process.
We then created a tablet-based prototype based off this initial flow. This slightly polished version was eventually put in front of real users - as well as our clients at Dermatrax - who fed back on their thoughts.
USER INTERFACE
The final product was a working Prototype to be presented to investors and current stakeholders. While I was able to narrow down key features, we allowed room for the product to grow according to the vision of the client.
